Chris Yates "Nightwalk" helps AH again - 17/02/13
Once again, our Trustee chris yates has helped Angling Heritage. With the launch of the deluxe leather version of Nightwalk illustrated by his son, Will, Chris and Sandy organised a more intimate signing in Salisbury to meet the purchasers of the special edition.
It was a great day with everybody having time to talk to Chris on topics ranging from publishing, fishing, football and having the chance to talk about his next book currently titled Winterwalk with fishing chapters including ice fishing in Norway. The day also benefitted by the audience being kindred spirits all adding to the relaxed informal atmosphere. Thanks to Rod Wells for being honorary treasurer for the day and the most patient man in the room.
As with the other signing that he has done before, a nominal charge was made for each signature from any additional books attendees wanted signing, which was kept to sensible levels.
One gentleman even brought some early artwork Chris did many years ago and made me eat my words that I could draw as well as him; they were very good. I won't be able to joke with him any more about his drawings devaluing the books - so I'll put it in writing - I'm sorry for taking the mickey over the last few years.
What a nice day and extra funds to boot.
