Shallow ulcer disease wiped out around 95% of the UK's Perch in the 1960's. Now they are back, and nowhere more so than Lake Bassenthwaite in Cumbria where in the company of fishing guide Eric Hope we took around 70, with a good third of them topping 2 pounds.
